Et les hommes d’Israël répondirent aux hommes de Juda, et dirent : J’ai dix parts au roi, et aussi en David j’ai plus que toi ; et pourquoi m’as-tu méprisé ? Et ma parole n’a-t-elle pas été la première pour ramener mon roi ? Et la parole des hommes de Juda fut plus dure que la parole des hommes d’Israël.
And the men of Israel answered the men of Juda, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we are older than you, we have also an interest in David above you: and why have ye thus insulted us, and why was not our advice taken before that of Juda, to bring back our king? And the speech of the men of Juda was sharper than the speech of the men of Israel.

Die Israeliten aber antworteten den Judäern: Wir haben zehn Teile am Könige, dazu bin ich der Erstgeborene dir gegenüber; warum also hast du mich gering geachtet? וַיַּ֣עַן אִֽישׁ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֩ אֶת־אִ֨ישׁ יְהוּדָ֜ה וַיֹּ֗אמֶר עֶֽשֶׂר־יָד֨וֹת לִ֣י בַמֶּלֶךְ֮ וְגַם־בְּדָוִד֮ אֲנִ֣י מִמְּךָ֒ וּמַדּ֨וּעַ֙ הֱקִלֹּתַ֔נִי וְלֹא־הָיָ֨ה דְבָרִ֥י רִאשׁ֛וֹן לִ֖י לְהָשִׁ֣יב אֶת־מַלְכִּ֑י וַיִּ֨קֶשׁ֙ דְּבַר־אִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה מִדְּבַ֖ר אִ֥ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס
Καὶ ἀπεκρίθη ἀνὴρ Ἰσραὴλ τῷ ἀνδρὶ Ἰούδα, καὶ εἶπε, δέκα χεῖρές μοι ἐν τῷ βασιλεῖ, καὶ πρωτότοκος ἐγὼ ἢ σὺ, καί γε ἐν τῷ Δαυίδ εἰμι ὑπὲρ σέ· καὶ ἱνατί τοῦτο ὕβρισάς με, καὶ οὐκ ἐλογίσθη ὁ λόγος μου πρῶτός μοι τοῦ Ἰούδα ἐπιστρέψαι τὸν βασιλέα ἐμοί; καὶ ἐσκληρύνθη ὁ λόγος ἀνδρὸς Ἰούδα ὑπὲρ τὸν λόγον ἀνδρὸς Ἰσραήλ.
וַיַּ֣עַן אִֽישׁ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֩ אֶת־אִ֨ישׁ יְהוּדָ֜ה וַיֹּ֗אמֶר עֶֽשֶׂר־יָדֹ֨ות לִ֣י בַמֶּלֶךְ֮ וְגַם־בְּדָוִד֮ אֲנִ֣י מִמְּךָ֒ וּמַדּ֙וּעַ֙ הֱקִלֹּתַ֔נִי וְלֹא־הָיָ֨ה דְבָרִ֥י רִאשֹׁ֛ון לִ֖י לְהָשִׁ֣יב אֶת־מַלְכִּ֑י וַיִּ֙קֶשׁ֙ דְּבַר־אִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה מִדְּבַ֖ר אִ֥ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס

And Ish Yisroel answered the Ish Yehudah, and said, We have ten shares as much in HaMelech, and we have also more in Dovid than ye; why then did ye slight us? Were we not the first to give the davar in bringing back my melech? And the devar Ish Yehudah were harsher than the devar Ish Yisroel.
