goodne.ws has no accounts, no logins and no newsletter. There is nothing to sign up for. The one place the site asks you for anything is the contact form, and only because a message needs a way to be answered; everything it stores is listed below.

What the site stores on your device

Two things, both kept in your browser and never sent to us:

• Pinned translations. If you pin a translation on a verse page, that choice is remembered so it stays at the top on other pages.
• A dismissed advertisement. If you close the banner at the bottom of a page on a phone, that is remembered for 24 hours so you are not asked again in the same sitting.

Clearing your browser's site data removes both. Neither is used to identify you, and neither leaves your device.

Server logs

The web server records ordinary request logs — the page requested, the time, the browser's user-agent string, and the IP address the request came from. These are used to keep the site running and to find faults. They are not combined with anything else and are not used to build a profile of you.

Advertising

The site is paid for by advertising and affiliate links. That involves third parties, and this is what they do:

• Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and you can opt out of other vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info. Google's own account of how it uses data from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com.
• Amazon Associates. Some links to books point at Amazon and carry a tag that credits this site if you buy something. goodne.ws earns from qualifying purchases. Following such a link takes you to Amazon, whose own privacy policy then applies.

Advertisements are not placed inside the scripture text, and no advertiser has any say in what the site publishes or how translations, dates and doctrinal positions are presented.

If you use the contact form

The contact form stores your message on this site. It does not send email: the domain declines mail at the DNS level, so there is no mailbox and no third party carrying your words.

• Your message and the reason you picked. Kept, because a rights claim or a correction is a record worth keeping.
• Your email address, if you chose to give one. It is optional, used only to reply to you, and added to no list.
• The network address the message arrived from, for 30 days. Kept only to stop the form being flooded, and erased automatically after that. The message itself stays; the address it came from does not.

What the site does not do

• No analytics service is loaded — no Google Analytics, no third-party measurement scripts.
• Maps are drawn from geometry served by this site. There is no tile provider and no map vendor sees your requests.
• No fonts, scripts or stylesheets are loaded from other hosts.
• Nothing is sold, rented or shared with data brokers.

Children

The site is a general reference resource and is not directed at children under 13, and nothing here is knowingly collected from one. Apart from a message someone chooses to send through the contact form, no personal information is gathered from anybody.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions, corrections, or a request to remove material you hold rights in go through the contact form. A rights claim is acted on first: material comes down while the claim is checked, not after.
