For as the ark of Noah, bearing the world in the world-filling flood, bare up against the waves,

Just as Noah's ark, carrying the world in the universal flood, stoutly endured the waves,

Car, comme le navire de Noé, portant le monde dans le déluge qui le remplit, s'est dressé contre les vagues,
