But if not, be it known to thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the image which thou hast set up.

Maar ook, wanneer dit niet gebeurt, weet dan, o koning, dat wij toch uw god niet vereren, en het gouden beeld niet aanbidden, dat gij hebt opgericht.

Mais si cela n'arrive pas, que l'on sache, ô roi, que nous ne servirons pas tes dieux et que nous n'adorerons pas la statue d'or que tu as dressée. »
