This is the vision which I king Nabuchodonosor saw: and do thou, Baltasar, declare the interpretation, for none of the wise men of my kingdom are able to shew me the interpretation of it: but thou, Daniel, art able; for the Holy Spirit of God is in thee.
Dit is de droom, die ik, koning Nabukodonosor, heb gezien. Beltsjassar, geef gij mij nu de uitleg. Want alle wijzen van mijn rijk konden er mij geen verklaring van geven; maar gij kunt het wel, omdat de geest der heilige goden in u woont.

Τοῦτο τὸ ἐνύπνιον ὃ ἴδον ἐγὼ Ναβουχοδονόσορ ὁ βασιλεὺς, καὶ σύ Βαλτάσαρ τὸ σύγκριμα εἰπὸν, ὅτι πάντες οἱ σοφοὶ τῆς βασιλείας μου οὐ δύνανται τὸ σύγκριμα αὐτοῦ δηλῶσαί μοι· σὺ δὲ Δανιὴλ δύνασαι, ὅτι πνεῦμα Θεοῦ ἅγιον ἐν σοί.
