Così vennero, e gridarono alle guardie della porta della città, e fecero loro assapere la cosa, dicendo: Noi siamo entrati nel campo dei Siri, ed ecco, non vi è alcuno, nè voce alcuna d'uomo; ma sol vi sono i cavalli, e gli asini legati, e i padiglioni, come erano prima.
Così partirono, chiamarono i guardiani della porta di città, e li informarono della cosa, dicendo: “Siamo andati al campo dei Siri, ed ecco che non v’è alcuno, né vi s’ode voce d’uomo; non vi son che i cavalli attaccati, gli asini attaccati, e le tende intatte”.
