فَقَالَ ٱللهُ لِسُلَيْمَانَ: «مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّ هَذَا كَانَ فِي قَلْبِكَ، وَلَمْ تَسْأَلْ غِنًى وَلَا أَمْوَالًا وَلَا كَرَامَةً وَلَا أَنْفُسَ مُبْغِضِيكَ، وَلَا سَأَلْتَ أَيَّامًا كَثِيرَةً، بَلْ إِنَّمَا سَأَلْتَ لِنَفْسِكَ حِكْمَةً وَمَعْرِفَةً تَحْكُمُ بِهِمَا عَلَى شَعْبِي ٱلَّذِي مَلَّكْتُكَ عَلَيْهِ،
ထာဝရဘုရားက``သင်သည်လျောက်ပတ် သောအရာကိုရွေးချယ်လေပြီ။ စည်းစိမ်ဥစ္စာ နှင့်ဂုဏ်သတင်းကျော်စောမှုတို့ကိုသော် လည်းကောင်း၊ ရန်သူများသေကြေပျက်စီးရန် ကိုသော်လည်းကောင်းမတောင်းခံဘဲ သင့်အား ငါပေးအပ်ထားသည့်ပြည်သူတို့ကိုအုပ်စိုး နိုင်ရန်ဉာဏ်ပညာနှင့်အသိပညာကိုတောင်း ခံပေသည်။ သို့ဖြစ်၍သင့်အားအသိပညာ နှင့်ဉာဏ်ပညာကိုငါပေးမည်။-
ဘုရားသခင် ကလည်း ၊ သင်သည် ထိုသို့အောက်မေ့ ၍ စည်းစိမ် ဥစ္စာ ဂုဏ် အသရေကို မတောင်း၊ ရန်သူ တို့ ၏ အသက် ကိုလည်း မ တောင်း ၊ တာရှည် သော အသက် ကိုလည်း မ တောင်း ၊ ငါခန့်ထား၍ သင်အစိုး ရသောငါ ၏ လူမျိုး ကို တရားစီရင်ခြင်းငှါတတ်နိုင်သော ဉာဏ် ပညာ ကိုသာ ကိုယ် အဘို့ တောင်း သောကြောင့် ၊ ဉာဏ် ပညာကို ငါပေး ၏။

Tedy odpověděl Bůh Šalomounovi: Proto že bylo to v srdci tvém, a nežádal jsi bohatství, ani zboží, ani slávy, ani bezživotí těch, jenž tebe nenávidí, aniž jsi také za dlouhý věk žádal, ale žádal jsi sobě moudrosti a umění, abys soudil lid můj, nad nímž jsem tě ustanovil za krále:
Da sagde Gud til Salomo: “Fordi din Hu står til dette, og du ikke bad om Rigdom, Gods og Ære eller om dine Avindsmænds Liv, ej heller om et langt Liv, men om Visdom og Indsigt til at dømme mit Folk, som jeg gjorde dig til Konge over,
Toen zeide God tot Salomo: Daarom, dat dit in uw hart geweest is, en gij niet begeerd hebt rijkdom, goederen, noch eer, noch de ziel uwer haters, noch ook vele dagen begeerd hebt; maar wijsheid en wetenschap voor u begeerd hebt, opdat gij Mijn volk mocht richten, waarover Ik u koning gemaakt heb;

Da sprach Gott zu Salomo: Weil du solches im Sinne führtest und nicht um Reichtum, Schätze und Ehre oder den Tod deiner Hasser, auch nicht um langes Leben gebeten hast, sondern dir Weisheit und Einsicht erbatest, um mein Volk, über das ich dich zum Könige gemacht habe, regieren zu können,

ויאמר אלהים לשלמה יען אשר היתה זאת עם לבבך ולא שאלת עשר נכסים וכבוד ואת נפש שנאיך וגם ימים רבים לא שאלת ותשאל לך חכמה ומדע אשר תשפוט את עמי אשר המלכתיך עליו׃

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר־אֱלֹהִ֣ים ׀ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֡ה יַ֣עַן אֲשֶׁר֩ הָיְתָ֨ה זֹ֜את עִם־לְבָבֶ֗ךָ וְלֹֽא־שָׁ֠אַלְתָּ עֹ֣שֶׁר נְכָסִ֤ים וְכָבוֹד֙ וְאֵת֙ נֶ֣פֶשׁ שֹׂנְאֶ֔יךָ וְגַם־יָמִ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים לֹ֣א שָׁאָ֑לְתָּ וַתִּֽשְׁאַל־לְךָ֙ חָכְמָ֣ה וּמַדָּ֔ע אֲשֶׁ֤ר תִּשְׁפּוֹט֙ אֶת־עַמִּ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִמְלַכְתִּ֖יךָ עָלָֽיו׃
