وَوَقَفَ دَاوُدُ ٱلْمَلِكُ عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ وَقَالَ: «اِسْمَعُونِي يَا إِخْوَتِي وَشَعْبِي. كَانَ فِي قَلْبِي أَنْ أَبْنِيَ بَيْتَ قَرَارٍ لِتَابُوتِ عَهْدِ ٱلرَّبِّ وَلِمَوْطِئِ قَدَمَيْ إِلَهِنَا، وَقَدْ هَيَّأْتُ لِلْبِنَاءِ.
