וַיִּתְחַזֵּ֞ק הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ רְחַבְעָ֛ם בִּירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם וַיִּמְלֹ֑ךְ כִּ֣י בֶן־אַרְבָּעִ֣ים וְאַחַ֣ת שָׁנָה֩ רְחַבְעָ֨ם בְּמָלְכֹ֜ו וּֽשֲׁבַ֨ע עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה שָׁנָ֣ה ׀ מָלַ֣ךְ בִּֽירוּשָׁלַ֗͏ִם הָ֠עִיר אֲשֶׁר־בָּחַ֨ר יְהוָ֜ה לָשׂ֨וּם אֶת־שְׁמֹ֥ו שָׁם֙ מִכֹּל֙ שִׁבְטֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמֹּ֔ו נַעֲמָ֖ה הָֽעַמֹּנִֽית׃
ויתחזק המלך רחבעם בירושלם וימלך כי בן ארבעים ואחת שנה רחבעם במלכו ושבע עשרה שנה מלך בירושלם העיר אשר בחר יהוה לשום את שמו שם מכל שבטי ישראל ושם אמו נעמה העמנית׃
فَتَشَدَّدَ ٱلْمَلِكُ رَحُبْعَامُ فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ وَمَلَكَ، لِأَنَّ رَحُبْعَامَ كَانَ ٱبْنَ إِحْدَى وَأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً حِينَ مَلَكَ، وَمَلَكَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ، ٱلْمَدِينَةِ ٱلَّتِي ٱخْتَارَهَا ٱلرَّبُّ لِيَضَعَ ٱسْمَهُ فِيهَا دُونَ جَمِيعِ أَسْبَاطِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، وَٱسْمُ أُمِّهِ نَعْمَةُ ٱلْعَمُّونِيَّةُ.
و رحبعام پادشاه، خویشتن را در اورشلیم قوی ساخته، سلطنت نمود و رحبعام چون پادشاه شد چهل و یک ساله بود، و در شهراورشلیم که خداوند آن را از تمام اسباط اسرائیل برگزید تا اسم خود را در آن بگذارد، هفده سال پادشاهی کرد و اسم مادرش نعمه عمونیه بود.
