E Davide disse in quel dì: Chiunque percoterà i Gebusei, e perverrà fino al canale, ed a que' ciechi e zoppi, i quali l'anima di Davide odia, sarà capitano : perciò si dice: Nè cieco nè zoppo non entrerà in questa casa.
E Davide disse in quel giorno: “Chiunque batterà i Gebusei giungendo fino al canale, e respingerà gli zoppi ed i ciechi che sono odiati da Davide…” Donde il detto: “Il cieco e lo zoppo non entreranno nella Casa”.

Y dijo David aquel día: ¿Quién llegará hasta las canales, y herirá al Jebuseo, y á los cojos y ciegos, á los cuales el alma de David aborrece? Por esto se dijo: Ciego ni cojo no entrará en casa.
Ese día David dijo: “Todo el que quiera derrotar a los jebuseos, que suba por el canal de agua y ataque a esos “cojos y ciegos” que tanto aborrezco”. De ahí viene el dicho: “Ni los ciegos ni los cojos entrarán en el templo”.
Y dijo David aquel día: Todo el que hiriere a los jebuseos, suba por el canal y hiera a los cojos y a los ciegos, a los cuales el alma de David aborrece. Por esto se dijo: Ciego ni cojo no entrará en la casa.
Y aquel día, David dijo: Quien haga un ataque a los jebuseos, déjalo subir por la tubería y mata a todos los ciegos y cojos que son odiados por David. Y es por eso que dicen: Los ciegos y los cojos pies débiles pueden no entrar al templo del Señor.
