Serubabel aber und Jesua und die übrigen israelitischen Familienhäupter sprachen zu ihnen: Wir haben nichts mit euch zu schaffen, daß wir mit euch zusammen unserem Gott einen Tempel bauen sollten, sondern wir für uns wollen Jahwe, dem Gott Israels, bauen, wie uns der König Cyrus, der König von Persien, befohlen hat.
Aber Serubbabel und Jesua und die übrigen Familienhäupter Israels antworteten ihnen: Es geziemt sich nicht, daß ihr und wir das Haus Gottes [gemeinsam] bauen, sondern wir allein wollen dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, bauen, wie uns Kores, der König von Persien, geboten hat!

اما زربابل و یشوع و سایر روسای آبای اسرائیل به ایشان گفتند: «شما را با ما در بنا کردن خانه خدای ما کاری نیست، بلکه ما تنها آن رابرای یهوه، خدای اسرائیل چنانکه کورش پادشاه، سلطان فارس به ما امر فرموده است، آن رابنا خواهیم نمود.»

Nhưng Xô-rô-ba-bên, Giê-sua, và các trưởng tộc khác của Y-sơ-ra-ên, đáp với chúng rằng: Các ngươi chẳng được phần chung với chúng ta đặng cất một đền thờ cho Đức Chúa Trời của chúng ta; song chúng ta, chỉ một mình chúng ta, sẽ cất một đền cho Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, y như Si-ru, vua Phe-rơ-sơ, đã truyền bảo chúng ta.
וַיֹּאמֶר֩ לָהֶ֨ם זְרֻבָּבֶ֜ל וְיֵשׁ֗וּעַ וּשְׁאָ֨ר רָאשֵׁ֤י הָֽאָבוֹת֙ לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לֹֽא־לָ֣כֶם וָלָ֔נוּ לִבְנ֥וֹת בַּ֖יִת לֵאלֹהֵ֑ינוּ כִּי֩ אֲנַ֨חְנוּ יַ֜חַד נִבְנֶ֗ה לַֽיהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֔נוּ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ כּ֥וֹרֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ־פָּרָֽס׃
