تَقَدَّمُوا إِلَى زَرُبَّابِلَ وَرُؤُوسِ ٱلْآبَاءِ وَقَالُوا لَهُمْ: «نَبْنِي مَعَكُمْ لِأَنَّنَا نَظِيرَكُمْ نَطْلُبُ إِلَهَكُمْ، وَلَهُ قَدْ ذَبَحْنَا مِنْ أَيَّامِ أَسَرْحَدُّونَ مَلِكِ أَشُّورَ ٱلَّذِي أَصْعَدَنَا إِلَى هُنَا».

וַיִּגְּשׁ֨וּ אֶל־זְרֻבָּבֶ֜ל וְאֶל־רָאשֵׁ֣י הָֽאָב֗וֹת וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ לָהֶם֙ נִבְנֶ֣ה עִמָּכֶ֔ם כִּ֣י כָכֶ֔ם נִדְר֖וֹשׁ לֵֽאלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם ולא ׀ אֲנַ֣חְנוּ זֹבְחִ֗ים מִימֵי֙ אֵסַ֤ר חַדֹּן֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֔וּר הַמַּעֲלֶ֥ה אֹתָ֖נוּ פֹּֽה׃
