כִּ֩י עָשֹׂ֨ה נַעֲשֶׂ֜ה אֶֽת־כָּל־הַדָּבָ֣ר ׀ אֲשֶׁר־יָצָ֣א מִפִּ֗ינוּ לְקַטֵּ֞ר לִמְלֶ֣כֶת הַשָּׁמַיִם֮ וְהַסֵּֽיךְ־לָ֣הּ נְסָכִים֒ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשִׂ֜ינוּ אֲנַ֤חְנוּ וַאֲבֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙ מְלָכֵ֣ינוּ וְשָׂרֵ֔ינוּ בְּעָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וּבְחֻצֹ֖ות יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וַנִּֽשְׂבַּֽע־לֶ֙חֶם֙ וַנִּֽהְיֶ֣ה טֹובִ֔ים וְרָעָ֖ה לֹ֥א רָאִֽינוּ׃
כי עשה נעשה את כל הדבר אשר יצא מפינו לקטר למלכת השמים והסיך לה נסכים כאשר עשינו אנחנו ואבתינו מלכינו ושרינו בערי יהודה ובחצות ירושלם ונשבע לחם ונהיה טובים ורעה לא ראינו׃
بَلْ سَنَعْمَلُ كُلَّ أَمْرٍ خَرَجَ مِنْ فَمِنَا، فَنُبَخِّرُ لِمَلِكَةِ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ، وَنَسْكُبُ لَهَا سَكَائِبَ. كَمَا فَعَلْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا وَمُلُوكُنَا وَرُؤَسَاؤُنَا فِي أَرْضِ يَهُوذَا وَفِي شَوَارِعِ أُورُشَلِيمَ، فَشَبِعْنَا خُبْزًا وَكُنَّا بِخَيْرٍ وَلَمْ نَرَ شَرًّا.
بلکه بهر چیزی که از دهان ماصادر شود البته عمل خواهیم نمود و برای ملکه آسمان بخورسوزانیده، هدیه ریختنی به جهت او خواهیم ریخت چنانکه خود ما و پدران ما وپادشاهان و سروران ما در شهرهای یهودا وکوچه های اورشلیم میکردیم. زیرا که در آن زمان از نان سیر شده، سعادتمند میبودیم و بلا رانمی دیدیم.
