Asa e o povo que estava com ele os perseguiram até Gerar. Caíram tantos dos etíopes que eles não puderam se recuperar, pois foram destruídos diante do SENHOR e diante do seu exército. O exército de Judá levou muitíssimos despojos.

Y Asa, y el pueblo que con él estaba, lo siguió hasta Gerar: y cayeron los Etiopes hasta no quedar en ellos aliento; porque fueron deshechos delante de Jehová y de su ejército. Y les tomaron muy grande despojo.
