فَأَجَابَ يُونَادَابُ بْنُ شِمْعَى أَخِي دَاوُدَ وَقَالَ: «لَا يَظُنَّ سَيِّدِي أَنَّهُمْ قَتَلُوا جَمِيعَ ٱلْفِتْيَانِ بَنِي ٱلْمَلِكِ. إِنَّمَا أَمْنُونُ وَحْدَهُ مَاتَ، لِأَنَّ ذَلِكَ قَدْ وُضِعَ عِنْدَ أَبْشَالُومَ مُنْذُ يَوْمَ أَذَلَّ ثَامَارَ أُخْتَهُ.

Da hob Jonadab an, der Sohn Simeas, des Bruders Davids, und sprach: Mein Herr denke nicht, daß alle jungen Männer, die Kinder des Königs tot sind, sondern Amnon ist allein tot. Denn Absalom hat's bei sich behalten von dem Tage an, da er seine Schwester Thamar schwächte.
Da ergriff Jonadab, der Sohn von Davids Bruder Simea, das Wort und sprach: Mein Herr, denke nicht, man habe die jungen Leute, die königlichen Prinzen, alle ums Leben gebracht: vielmehr ist Amnon alleine tot, denn über Absaloms Gesicht lag ein unheilverkündender Zug seit dem Tage, da jener seine Schwester Thamar entehrt hatte.
Da hob Jonadab, der Sohn Simeas, des Bruders Davids, an und sprach: Mein Herr denke nicht, daß alle Jünglinge, die Söhne des Königs, tot seien; sondern Amnon allein ist tot; denn auf Absaloms Lippen lag ein Vorsatz seit dem Tage, da jener seine Schwester vergewaltigt hatte.

Ma Jonadab, figliuolo di Shimea, fratello di Davide, prese a dire: “Non dica il mio signore che tutti i giovani, figliuoli del re, sono stati uccisi; il solo Amnon è morto; per Absalom era cosa decisa fin dal giorno che Amnon gli violò la sorella Tamar.

Y Jonadab, hijo de Simea hermano de David, habló y dijo: No diga mi señor que han muerto á todos los jóvenes hijos del rey, que sólo Amnón es muerto: porque en boca de Absalom estaba puesto desde el día que Amnón forzó á Thamar su hermana.
Pero Jonadab, hijo de Simea y sobrino de David, intervino: No crea su Majestad que han matado a todos los jóvenes. Solo ha muerto Amnón. Absalón ya había decidido hacer esto desde el día en que Amnón violó a su hermana Tamar.
Pero Jonadab, hijo de Simea hermano de David, habló y dijo: No diga mi señor que han muerto a todos los jóvenes hijos del rey, pues solo Amnón ha muerto; porque por mandato de Absalón esto estaba determinado desde el día que Amnón forzó a Tamar su hermana.
Y Jonadab, el hijo de Simea, hermano de David, dijo: No se dé a mi señor la idea de que todos los hijos del rey han sido ejecutados; porque sólo Amnón ha muerto: esto lo propuso Absalom desde el día en que tomó a su hermana Tamar por la fuerza.
