وَوَقَفَ ٱلْمَلِكُ عَلَى مِنْبَرِهِ وَقَطَعَ عَهْدًا أَمَامَ ٱلرَّبِّ لِلذَّهَابِ وَرَاءَ ٱلرَّبِّ وَلِحِفْظِ وَصَايَاهُ وَشَهَادَاتِهِ وَفَرَائِضِهِ بِكُلِّ قَلْبِهِ وَكُلِّ نَفْسِهِ، لِيَعْمَلَ كَلَامَ ٱلْعَهْدِ ٱلْمَكْتُوبِ فِي هَذَا ٱلسِّفْرِ.
