I am this day doing all in my power for the cause of your father Saul and for his brothers and his friends, and have not given you up into the hands of David, and now you say I have done wrong with a woman.

Über diese Frage Esbaals erzürnte sich Abner heftig und er rief: Bin ich denn ein judäischer Hundskopf? Heute übe ich Liebesdienste an dem Hause deines Vaters Saul gegenüber seinen eigenen Angehörigen und Freunden und habe dich nicht in Davids Hände geraten lassen - und heute machst du mir Vorwürfe um eines Weibes willen!
Da ward Abner sehr zornig über diese Worte Ischbosets und sprach: Bin ich denn ein Hundskopf, der ich heute, Juda zuleide, Barmherzigkeit erweise an dem Hause deines Vaters Saul und an seinen Brüdern und an seinen Freunden und dich nicht in die Hand Davids geraten ließ? Então Abner ficou muito irado com as palavras de Isbosete, e disse: “Sou eu a cabeça de um cachorro que pertence a Judá? Hoje eu mostro bondade para com a casa de seu pai Saul, para com seus irmãos e para com seus amigos, e não o entreguei nas mãos de Davi; e ainda assim você me acusa hoje de um erro com essa mulher!
E irou-se Abner em grande maneira pelas palavras de Is-Bosete, e disse: Sou eu uma cabeça de cão pertencente a Judá? Eu fiz hoje misericórdia com a casa de Saul teu pai, com seus irmãos, e com seus amigos, e não te entreguei nas mãos de Davi; e tu me acusas de ter pecado acerca desta mulher?

Abner se puso furioso por el reclamo de Isboset y le respondió: ¿Acaso soy yo un traidor al servicio de Judá? Hasta hoy he sido fiel a la familia de tu padre Saúl, a sus hermanos y a sus amigos, y no te he entregado en manos de David. ¡Y ahora me vienes con reclamos por lo que pasó con esa mujer!

Hoy me muestro bondadoso con la casa de tu padre Saúl, con sus hermanos y con sus amigos, y no te he entregado en manos de David; ¡y sin embargo me acusas hoy de una falta con respecto a esta mujer!
Y Abner estaba muy enojado con las palabras de Is-boset, y él dijo: ¿Soy yo cabeza de perro de Judá? Hoy estoy haciendo todo lo que puedo por la causa de tu padre Saúl y sus hermanos y amigos, y no te he entregado en las manos de David, y ahora dices que he hecho mal con una mujer.
