En Salomo zeide: Gij hebt aan Uw knecht David, mijn vader, grote weldadigheid gedaan, gelijk als hij voor Uw aangezicht gewandeld heeft, in waarheid, en in gerechtigheid, en in oprechtheid des harten met U; en Gij hebt hem deze grote weldadigheid gehouden, dat Gij hem gegeven hebt een zoon, zittende op zijn troon, als te dezen dage.

Salomón respondió: “Usted mostró un gran amor por su servidor David, mi padre, porque él se condujo delante de usted con verdad, justicia y rectitud de corazón. Usted ha mantenido ese gran amor hacia él y le ha concedido que un hijo suyo se siente hoy en su trono.
Y Salomón dijo: «Vos habéis hecho gran misericordia a vuestro siervo David mi padre, según él anduvo delante de vos en verdad, en justicia y en rectitud de corazón para con vos; y vos le habéis guardado esta vuestra gran misericordia, al darle un hijo que se sentase en su trono, como sucede hoy.
Salomon odgovori: “Veoma si naklon bio svome sluzi Davidu, mome ocu, jer je hodio pred tobom u vjernosti, pravednosti i poštenju srca svoga; i sačuvao si mu tu veliku milost i dao si da jedan od njegovih sinova sjedi na njegovu prijestolju.

ויאמר שלמה אתה עשית עם עבדך דוד אבי חסד גדול כאשר הלך לפניך באמת ובצדקה ובישרת לבב עמך ותשמר לו את החסד הגדול הזה ותתן לו בן ישב על כסאו כיום הזה׃
فَقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ: «إِنَّكَ قَدْ فَعَلْتَ مَعَ عَبْدِكَ دَاوُدَ أَبِي رَحْمَةً عَظِيمَةً حَسْبَمَا سَارَ أَمَامَكَ بِأَمَانَةٍ وَبِرٍّ وَٱسْتِقَامَةِ قَلْبٍ مَعَكَ، فَحَفِظْتَ لَهُ هَذِهِ ٱلرَّحْمَةَ ٱلْعَظِيمَةَ وَأَعْطَيْتَهُ ٱبْنًا يَجْلِسُ عَلَى كُرْسِيِّهِ كَهَذَا ٱلْيَوْمِ.
