فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ دَاوُدُ أَنَّ نَابَالَ قَدْ مَاتَ قَالَ: «مُبَارَكٌ ٱلرَّبُّ ٱلَّذِي ٱنْتَقَمَ نَقْمَةَ تَعْيِيرِي مِنْ يَدِ نَابَالَ، وَأَمْسَكَ عَبْدَهُ عَنِ ٱلشَّرِّ، وَرَدَّ ٱلرَّبُّ شَرَّ نَابَالَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ». وَأَرْسَلَ دَاوُدُ وَتَكَلَّمَ مَعَ أَبِيجَايِلَ لِيَتَّخِذَهَا لَهُ ٱمْرَأَةً.
و چون داود شنید که نابال مرده است، گفت: «مبارک باد خداوند که انتقام عار مرا ازدست نابال کشیده، و بنده خود را از بدی نگاه داشته است، زیرا خداوند شرارت نابال را بهسرش رد نموده است و داود فرستاده، با ابیجایل سخن گفت تا او را به زنی خود بگیرد.»

ナバルが死んだと聞いた時、ダビデは言った。「ナバルが浴びせた侮辱の訴えを取り上げ、そのしもべを悪から引き止めてくださった主がほめたたえられるように。主はナバルの悪行を彼自身の頭上に返された。」そしてダビデは、アビガイルを自分の妻に迎えるため、彼女に人を遣わして申し入れた。

Als nun David hörte, daß Nabal tot war, sprach er: Gelobt sei der HERR, der meine Schmach an Nabal gerächt und seinen Knecht vom Unrecht abgehalten hat! Und der HERR hat Nabals Unrecht auf seinen Kopf vergolten! Und David sandte hin und ließ mit Abigail reden, um sie sich zum Weibe zu nehmen.

Y al enterarse David de que Nabal había muerto, dijo: Alabado sea él Señor, que tomó mi causa contra Nabal por la vergüenza que puso sobre mí, y ha guardado a su siervo del mal, y ha envió a la cabeza de Nabal la recompensa de su maldad. Y David envió un mensaje a Abigail, deseando tomarla como su esposa.

Cuando David oyó que Nabal murió, dijo: ¡Bendito sea Yavé, Quien juzgó la causa de la afrenta que Nabal me hizo, y preservó del mal a su esclavo! Yavé devolvió así la maldad de Nabal sobre su propia cabeza. Y David envió a hablar con Abigail para tomarla como esposa.

And when Dovid heard that Naval was dead, he said, Baruch Hashem, that hath upheld the cause of my cherpah (reproach) from the yad of Naval, and hath kept his eved from ra'ah; for Hashem hath returned the ra'ah (wickedness) of Naval upon his own rosh. And Dovid sent and communed with Avigal, to take her to him as isha.
