Then said I, Ah, Lord Jehovah! behold, my soul hath not been defiled, and from my youth up even until now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or of that which is torn; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.

Y dije: ¡Ah Señor Jehová! he aquí que mi alma no es inmunda, ni nunca desde mi mocedad hasta este tiempo comí cosa mortecina ni despedazada, ni nunca en mi boca entró carne inmunda.
Entonces exclamé: “¡Ay, Señor Yahvé! Mi vida nunca se ha contaminado. Desde mi niñez hasta ahora jamás he comido carne de un animal muerto o despedazado por fieras, ni ha pasado por mi boca ninguna carne impura”.
Entonces dije: «¡Ah, Señor Yahvé! He aquí que mi alma nunca se ha contaminado; desde mi juventud hasta ahora nunca he comido animal muerto ni despedazado por fieras, ni jamás ha entrado en mi boca carne abominable».
Ja mu odgovorih: “Jao, Jahve Gospode, gle, moja duša nije okaljana, jer se od djetinjstva još ne okusih ničega uginulog ni rastrganog niti u moja usta ikad uđe meso nečisto.”
Tada rekoh: Ah Gospode Gospode, gle, duša se moja nije oskvrnila, jer od detinjstva svog do sada nisam jeo mrcinoga ni šta bi zverka razdrla, niti je ušlo u usta moja meso nečisto.
Da sprach ich: Ach Herr Jahwe! Fürwahr, ich bin noch nie verunreinigt gewesen und Gefallenes oder von Raubtieren Zerrissenes habe ich nie gegessen von Jugend auf bis jetzt, und nie kam in meinen Mund verdorbenes Fleisch!

فَقُلْتُ: «آهِ، يَا سَيِّدُ ٱلرَّبُّ، هَا نَفْسِي لَمْ تَتَنَجَّسْ. وَمِنْ صِبَايَ إِلَى ٱلْآنَ لَمْ آكُلْ مِيتَةً أَوْ فَرِيسَةً، وَلَا دَخَلَ فَمِي لَحْمٌ نَجِسٌ».
پس گفتم: «آهای خداوند یهوه اینک جان من نجس نشده و از طفولیت خود تا به حال میته یادریده شده را نخوردهام و خوراک نجس به دهانم نرفته است.»
