Por acaso não me temereis?diz o SENHOR; Não vos assombrareis perante mim, que pus a areia por limite ao mar por ordenança eterna, a qual não passará? Ainda que se levantarem suas ondas, mas elas não prevalecerão; ainda que bramem, não a passarão.

Mich wollt ihr nicht fürchten, spricht der HERR, vor mir nicht erzittern, der ich dem Meere den Sand zur Grenze gesetzt habe, zur ewigen Schranke, die es nicht überschreiten darf? Wenn sich seine Wogen auch dagegen auflehnen, so sind sie doch machtlos; wenn auch seine Wellen toben, können sie dieselben nicht überschreiten.

¿No me temes? dice el Señor ¿No tiemblan de miedo ante mí, que he puesto la arena como límite para el mar, por un orden eterno, para que no pueda pasarlo? y aunque está siempre en movimiento, no puede seguir su camino; Aunque el sonido de sus ondas es fuerte, no pueden pasarlo.

¿No me temerán a Mí? dice Yavé. ¿No temblarán ante mi Presencia, Yo, Quien puso la arena de límite al mar, como estatuto perpetuo que no puede traspasar? Aunque se agiten sus ondas, no pueden prevalecer. Aunque rujan sus olas, no lo traspasan.
